Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, dog walkers, mostly easy, one set of stairs at Inverkeithing end but there’s a short easy detour to avoid them. Mostly tarmac, some woodland sections in Dalgety Bay. Great views.

This is a simple and well signed coastal walk from the town of Inverkeithing to Dalgety Bay. The paths are tarmac and gravel with little to no main roads involved. Path is for walker and wheelers and offers great views over the river to Edinburgh and beyond on a clear day. There are several seating areas along the way and there is a small shopping area in the town of Dalgety Bay. The train station is not too far away either for getting back to Edinburgh or further along the Fife coast.

A straightforward walk from Inverkeithing following the Fife Coastal Path to St David's Pier Harbour. The paths are generally paved and shared with cyclists with a section of gravel type paths that have been recently upgraded. Some great views to be had over the Forth to Edinburgh and beyond. There are some steps in sections so not accessable to all unfortunately.
