17 Sep 2024This route isn't useable in it's current format:
There are multiple places where access is blocked between Holme-on-Spalding-Moor and the Market Weighton canal requiring a lot of route diversions/road walking.
The crossing of the canal before Newport doesn't exist, and isn't necessary as you can walk directly off the canal path (east side) onto the footpath to North Cave, unless you want to stop in Newport for a break in which case you can carry straight on down the east side of the canal and not route around to the west.
The route GPS now crosses through a quarry just before North Cave with no access to the public, the GPS has "straight-lined" across the quarry instead of mapping around.
NB - the scenery is nice (though a lot of farmland) so no issues with the idea of the route, but needs a lot of re-working before being recommended for general use.
