Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

22 Apr 2023Our group ran this route together at approximately 7.30pm on a Monday evening (it was dark at the time). I can't fault this route- it was direct, and included some great sections in interesting neighbourhoods. Lloyd Baker Street is quite steep (we used to use this for hill reps at my local running group!), and Calthorpe Park is not open at this time in the evening.

05 Dec 2022I walked this route from Holborn to Angel. It's a very good route, sticking mainly to quieter streets. I walked after dark and found the route to be well-lit and comfortable. A special treat was Lamb's Conduit Street between Theobalds Road and Guildford Street, a lovely street lined with shops and restaurants. Easy to follow, direct, and pleasant. A great route.

16 Oct 2022Direct and relatively quiet route through some lesser known parts of London. Lit and accessible 24/7.
Walked Angel to Holborn. Downhill most of the way.
Shortly after leaving Angel the route turns off St John Street towards Myddleton Square (second photo). From here all the way down the hill to Kings Cross road are some attractive 19th century houses (first photo) and a very pleasant relaxed atmosphere away from busy streets.
Nearer to Holborn the route goes along Lambs Conduit street with its independent shops, and good places to stop and eat.
Arrive at Holborn via Red Lion Square.
Highly recommend this route.
