07 Jan 2024An interesting route, mostly secluded paths and lanes to the North and mostly paved route south of Ripley. A very good local store in Ripley.

08 Jul 2021The route is basically the same as HARRIP1 except for the section from after Whitcliffe Hall, about 11 miles from the start. Descending along Whitcliffe Lane, after Whitcliffe Hall, watch out for a path on the left hand side leading into Whitcliffe Wood (see photo). The path is identified by the sign 'No Motorbikes' and is a permissive path through the Woodland Trust owned wood. When the path leaves the wood, turn left and descend to the cottage. Cross the road and enter the wood. You are now entering Hell Wath Nature Reserve. There are many paths here but the most scenic one runs close to the river. Following the river brings you to the junction of the Rivers Skell and Laver and from there the path is as for HARRIP1, basically following the river before ascending into the town centre.
