Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

16 Aug 2022I walked Rutherglen to Glasgow.
From central Rutherglen the route follows a main road to the river Clyde, and crosses the road bridge to the north side.
Here it joins the Clyde Walkway, a traffic free path which follows the river all the way to central Glasgow.
Its a very good path which passes a mixture of riverside residential, sewage works (not especially smelly!), and modern landscaping. Eventually I came to Glasgow Green, a large public gardens very popular at weekends.
The river is a slow companion all the way; you may see birds out fishing, commuting cyclists, and also this is a popular route for health walks. Some of the graffiti is fun, I especially liked ‘wee thistle’.
The route is less direct than Glarut One but has more river. It is designed to connect directly to the Rutherglen-Cambuslang slow way at the riverside, giving a continuous riverside route from Glasgow to Cambuslang (and on to Uddingston), without the need to pass through Rutherglen town centre.
It’s an excellent route, I dropped a star because the road connection to central Rutherglen is a bit of a busy one, there isn’t an alternative that I could see.
