25 Jan 2024I enjoyed this walk, starting in the attractive residential streets of Giffnock. Then a couple of pleasant park sections - Auldhouse Park is particularly pleasant. There's a handy Morrisons (cafe and toilets) at the far end of Auldhouse Park. Then alongside the road to Pollokshields. If you want, it's easy to continue from there to Glasgow city centre on Polgla One.

07 Feb 2022Review of SlowWays Route Gifpol1 (Giffnock – Pollokshields)
I walked this route in reverse on a rainy day in February 2022. It is a pleasant route which is easy to follow and has several sections which avoid busy roads. In particular, it utilises three interesting parks (Queen’s Park, Auldhouse Park and Mansewood High Park) to provide some very welcome access to green space. The route also passes through several areas with excellent eating places including Strathbungo, Shawlands and Giffnock. One section of the route (between Burnfield Road and Treeburn Avenue) is a little remote but will probably feel safer once the neighbouring housing estate is completed. Overall, an easy and interesting walk.
