27 Feb 2022An enjoyable walk, with quite a mixture of terrains - farmland, small sections of forest, village and town roads, and a section through the Blenheim Palace estate, from Combe Gate to Woodstock itself. The section through the estate doesn't require you to buy a ticket, but you will need to do so if you make a detour closer to the Palace itself.
Refreshment options are provided at both ends, and at the pub in Combe, which is situated on the picturesque village green. There are also three benches if you've brought your own refreshments or just need a rest.
This route is not suitable for anything wheeled - frequent stiles and kissing gates are too obstructive.
