Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

06 Jan 2024I started this route at Addington Village Tramstop. The Addington end is interesting with a church, woodland and a golf course. Foxes Wood has an informal BMX track. The rest of the route is through suburban streets. The roads have a 20 mph speed limit but few drivers observe it! Shirley Library is an interesting building. At Elmers End there's a large Tesco, railway station and tramstop.

03 Dec 2023A decent enough route through the suburbs of Croydon. Uses paths and cycle paths mostly, except one section in the middle running alongside some woods. It’s narrow there, but it’s natural gravel underfoot as its heathland. Not muddy.
Passes through Shirley, Addington and New Addington, plenty of shops to buy snacks and water if needed. Ends at New Addington tram stop and near bus stops.
Gentle uphill gradient for the majority of the route, except one steep downhill section to Addington.
