Description
This has a few modifications to Edeton One, following more of the Eden Valley Walk / Wealdway. It goes through woodland, fields, and along waterways. The inclines and descents are gentle, which is good for when the trail gets muddy. It is not accessible to wheels due to gates and bridges that require you to step over a bar/steps. Some of the trail is narrow, so mind the barbed wires.
This does not including walking along the high street, but you will do so if starting from/getting to Tonbridge Station for transport

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

18 Feb 2024Walked this route from Tonbridge to Edenbridge due to train schedules and prices, but would recommend starting from Edenbridge and ending in Tonbridge if that is possible.
This is a very pleasant walk, with a good variety of woodland, waterways, lakes, gentle hills, and nice views. We saw a range of architecture as well, from old to contemporary, including Penshurt Place, which you can spot from miles away. Hever Castle is also on the way, but you can't see very much of it on the walk. If you're doing this walk in 2 stages, it'd be worth a stop through the gardens (I went to it a few years ago). It was also a nice surprise to walk by the Tonbridge miniature railway!
It's a longer walk, and Edenbridge and Tonbridge have shops for refreshments, but there are only a few good spots for rest should you need it - Hever, Penshurst, Haysden Water, for example. Toilets you'll probably only get at Penshurst, and I'm guessing that will be if you ask a pub nicely.
We did this walk in February, after a period of wet weather, which meant very muddy boots and slowing the pace down where we had to trudge through very soggy trails. The mud can be sticky and slippery, so do take care and wear good shoes.
This is not suitable for wheels. The trail has steps, bridges, and gates, and the trail can be very narrow in places.
