Description
Both ECCSAL One and Two, despite being identical, shares a number of errors: the 'footpath' from Nadine Street is a locked, gated back alley, and, once on the main road, there is no crossing.
The route around the roundabouts near Salford Shopping City don't take into account thin pavements or crossings far from where the route says, due to fencing.
Also, approaching Salford Crescent station, the routes don't take the safest, most direct route across the road crossings.

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

24 Mar 2023A decent urban route and, hopefully, fully accessible for all users.
Starting at Eccles station (the Metro and bus station aren't too far away either, and shops), once over the footbridge over the motorway, we're on a stretch of road. Crossing using the subway, it's then a gradual uphill walk, past many shops and Salford Royal. Some pavement parking may hamper wheelchair or buggy users, but it should be safe all of the way.
Eventually we come to Buile Hill Park, with its wide tarmac paths and welcoming trees. Once through, we're onto residential streets. The pavements have ramps, and, whilst there is no formal crossing of the sometimes busy Langworthy Road, again there are ramps and, opposite, a break in the pavement for wheelchairs to access Lower Seedley Road.
Heading down Fitzwarren Street, passing the large Tesco on our left, we use the crossing before the roundabout. A few more road crossings, and we follow the pavement along the edge of the shopping centre. One more crossing brings us the Broadwalk, a long paved footpath that cuts through the middle of a residential area, including many blocks of flats. At the end, we use the crossing over the A6, before heading to the end at Salford Crescent station.
A good urban wander, and, like I said, hopefully a fully accessible one.

06 Jun 2023Thank you for creating this route. Eccsal two was just creating a few errors that I was aware of. Super that you've tested the route and created a better Eccsal three.
