23 Feb 2026I have walked this route long ago. It is all on the Pennine Way. So it's very much off road and remote. Quite rough and muddy in parts and sometimes positively dangerous in snow and ice during winter. Further information available in Pennine Way guide books!.

29 Mar 2026I also walked almost all of this one years ago when doing the Pennine Way (I didn't stay at Langdon Beck so missed a short section at that end). Yes, it is a challenging walk, but I wouldn't have flagged it because it can't really be made easier - apart from remoteness the only real difficulties were around Cauldron Snout, which is a highlight of the walk but does involve a bit of easy scrambling. I won't review it myself because I don't review old walks or ones that I haven't completed.
