11 Jun 2022This is the second time I have walked this route and this time I tried a couple of alternatives to see if it could be more accessible.
When leaving Dollar continue on the footpath up the hill beside the road. When nearing the top of the hill the footpath stops on the left hand side. Their is a gate on the left hand side. Follow the path that leads back down the hill till you join the old railway line path coming in from the left.
Continue along the railway and do not turn off to the right along a small path as the original route suggests. At the point where the railway line goes left veer right up to the quiet tarmac road.
Turn right on vicars bridge road and walk along until reaching the point where you cross the A977.
Continue along the original route to Saline. The route follows a quiet road into Saline.

02 May 2021This walk starts in Dollar before leading you out (along the Devon road) and then into Damhead woods. The path meanders alongside the river Devon before a short steep walk (aided by a rope rail) up onto the old railway path. You walk along this before turning off onto a Forrest track heading towards a cycle and walking friendly road. This road crosses the Main Street of Blairingone and then after a small section on a cycle and walking path you join the North road all the way to Saline. This is a cycling and walking friendly road. The finishing point is a bus stop.
