Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Very accessible and direct route from Didsbury to Levenshulme with lots of amenities at either end. The walk is exclusively suburban, passing through one park and by a some others. There are a couple of parades of shops on the way and a short detour to a large supermarket in Burnage if required. Roads are very level and all pavements have dropped kerbs at crossing points. Excellent transport links at either end thanks to Levenshulme train station, Didsbury tram stop and numerous bus routes.

Level urban walk. Good choice of bus routes nearby in case you wish to cut it short.
Start in Levy with good train station and very regular bus service (and find watering holes such as Station Hop) passing over the an old railway line which is now a popular cycle path ('The followfield loop') passing Burnage Station ('Reasons to be Cheerful' is a great watering hole close to Fog Lane Park) and ending in Didsbury (plenty of refreshment points) which has a station and good tram and bus service.
Paved footpath throughout.
Certainly recommend both Didsbury and Levy as interesting places to visit.

Would you walk it again? - Yes, as Levy has some interesting social points
Would you suggest it to others? - yes
Is it reasonably safe? - yes
Is it reasonably accurate? - correct, and I have the gpx verify
Does it have access issues? - only steps were curbs and most offered dropped curb.

Very similar route to Didlevone.

I liked Fogg Lane Park, and the broad, tree lined Errwood Road.
