Description
Part cycle track, this also has flights of steps. It follows the infilled line of the northern branch of the Derby canal which is in part being restored but the return of boats is a long way off. The route is mostly still there so the path has wide grass verges. The surface is a mix of tarmac, stone and occasional mud. This Slow Way passes through Spondon allowing access for more customers. The section west of Spondon offers an art gallery and a fascinating dip and dive through the intensive road junction. A walk over the impressive footbridge gives access to the large retail park at Wyvern and Pride Park where it meets Derbor-1
