Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

15 May 2023A great route - mainly on straightforward, off-road paths that follow the river most of the way. Walking through the golf course at the beginning looked a bit off-putting (there are 'private' signs) but it's definitely open for walkers and I didn't need to avoid any golf balls!!
As another reviewer mentioned, there is a tricky road crossing at New Battle Viaduct - it's better to walk further up the road and come back along the other side to avoid the fast blind bend.

16 Feb 2023This is a great route in an area of few pavements and fast roads. The only challenging part is crossing the road at Lothian Bridge, which is a fast road on a bend.
Nice routing through Dalhousie Castle, you may see the falcons. Lots of good woodland paths too. It's easy to follow, but often the path is single track and uneven.
