Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

24 Jul 2024Review of Slow Ways route Cumlar one (Cumbrae Ferry to Largs)
I travelled this route in June 2024 at the beginning and end of a lovely afternoon on the island. It is a very straightforward crossing, and a great opportunity to get away from it all with a short, 15 minute journey. Tickets need to be bought (from the kiosk at the pierhead) prior to queuing for the ferry. Bicycles, buggies and wheelchairs can all be accommodated, and staff are on hand to provide assistance if required.

11 Aug 2023Frequent Ro-Ro ferry service operated by CalMac. Runs every 20-30 mins at peak times, crossing takes 15 mins. No accessibility issues as far as I could tell.
