Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

12 Nov 2022Overall a decent and direct route which is more pleasant than Cleyat one. I walked it Yatton to Clevedon. It uses a new cycle path around the back of a recently built housing estate to exit Yatton and then makes its way across the fields through horsey areas and arable fields before crossing under the M5 to the edge of Clevedon. In the town itself, it makes uses alleys through modern housing estates to reach the old Victorian town where it zigzags briefly up onto a delightful old path along a low cliff which gives a wide view south before heading for the seafront.
The only potential issue on this route is a kilometre of arable land between the green lane that goes around the back of Ham Farm horse facility at North End and the B3133 at Kenn. It may be hard going at certain times of year here, e.g. when recently ploughed or if there is a high crop of cornstalks in late summer when there may be no obvious path through and little room to walk around the field edges. Also the signage is patchy through this section and the farm gates at either end difficult to open and easier to climb over (tied up with string/chains). Note that the plot of this Slow Way follows the actual line of the path which is not the same as shown on the OS map.
You are very likely to encounter horses in fields on this route.
