14 Nov 2022I really enjoyed this walk. There are some amazing views which are particularly colourful at this time of year. Some climbs but none were horrendous and always worth getting to the top. A little damp and smelly round the farm but at least the cows were friendly. A lovely local inn to be found at the end of the walk to partake of some much appreciated liquid refreshment.

13 Nov 2022Really enjoyed this route. Some pretty impressive views which make some of the climbing worth it! Done during Autumn, the colours surrounding you make you stop and stare at several points in awe. Some pretty mucky bits in places, but overall very enjoyable.

13 Nov 2022Really lovely route through rural Devon. I walked from Lapford to Chulmleigh and there were times when suddenly the view opened out and demanded to be appreciated.
From leaving Lapford you are very quickly high up with open views across the hills. You are quickly on to quite a long stretch of lane walking, but these are quiet and the hedgerows don't completely block out the countryside.
Eventually the lane goes downhill to Leigh Bridge and the woodland around here is really nice, especially right now in the autumn with all the colours.
Once onto the bridleways the ground underfoot needed more care. The mud around Stone Barton Farm was particularly gross, but thankfully the stinky section was short. In some places I think the paths get very wet, and probably quite muddy in winter, but were aall easily passable today.
This is a hilly walk, but the effort is well worth it.
