Description

This route irons out the issues I encountered in undertaking Chiroy one. These included eradicated paths and excitable cows. It replaces unachievable field walking with quiet lanes. The eradicated sections took me much time and anguish in trying to use. These issues have all been formally notified to Wilts ROW Department ( but don't hold your breath for quick resolution )
I have maintained Chiroy one route as much as possible, for example I prefer the route out of RWB as shown on Calroy rather than down Station Rd as Chiroy.
The pavement adjacent to the A3102 between Lyneham and Goatacre is not the most pleasant.
I recorded 19 stiles, 2 field gates, and 1 ped gate, together with a variety of bridges with steps n stiles. Lyneham has pubs and supermarkets plus OPEN toilets.
The route also follows as it is on the ground, rather than the location of fps, and stiles etc

As review on Chiroy one, and reasons for generating this route, it largely follows Chiroy one, but removes the sections which are impossible to access. This route follows the paths on the ground, rather than the OS map. All in all its a pleasant route, slightly marred by the pavement section running alongside theA3102 between Lyneham and Goatacre. The route has 19 stiles, 2 field gates, and 1 pedestrian gate. There are 5 bridges with stiles and steps. In the middle third there is Lyneham and also Foxham pub ( limited hours ? ).
