Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

16 May 2023 (edited 15 May 2023)During this walk, the path on Howard Avenue is over grown so much that we had to walk sideways and we got stung by nettles that had grown very tall (see pic 03 & 05).
Halfway through the walk there was a trolly that had been dumped on the other side of the stream. This trolly is spoinling the walk. It can be accessed from Valley Road, off CHeadle Road. Just before the first bend on the left is where it has been disposed of on the embankment. (see pic 13 &14).
Otherwise this was a pleasant walk with beautiful scenery.

14 May 2023We started this walk at Abney Hall Park then took a detour through Brookfields Park before joining the route from Brook House. It was very green and quiet despite the sunny weather, some part of the paths need some TLC as they're clearly not walked often but overall it was a lovely walk!.

06 May 2023 (edited 05 May 2023)I enjoyed this walk as walking along the river and the wide path was so usefull simply people walking pass with their dogs plenty of space just as you reach to the ladybridge raod after crossing the steps going to next route was a little too deep on a rainy day could be slippery .
But all together a pleasent walk.

18 Feb 2023Really good mix of greenery and industrial - enjoyed this walk particularly the Ladybrook Cycle way which we didn't realise was there - we used this as a continuation of CHECHE 1 and did the 8k loop.

05 Sep 2022I wasn't expecting this Slow Way to be so green, easy and enjoyable.
It's a mix of high street, suburbia, industrial estate and green woodland corridor.
The vast majority of the route follows Lady Brook, making use of of the Ladybrook Cycleway. It's a flat a very easy to follow path that runs alongside the river and under a canopy of trees.
It's a good urban walking route that would be fun to run too.
It's nearly fully accessible, but where the path meets Ladybridge road there is a single (short) flight of steps and a metal kissing gate. I'm sure someone local could design another good route option without this instance.
Nice route Paul!
After this route I continued to Bramhall and then Poynton.
