Description

This is a good dry-weather route between Brockenhurst and Totton. You can expect some great vistas, forest and lots of ponies.

Everyone in Brockenhurst and Totton should give it a go! Catch the train and then walk back again.

This route is more direct than Brotot, missing Lyndhurst and going through the forest instead.

4km of the route going in/out of Totton is on paths beside the busy A35. Aside from that stretch, most of the rest of the route is a beautiful journey through the New Forest.

The path floods south of Ashurst Lodge on the Beaulieu River after heavy or extended rains. Another route could be developed that avoids this by going through the Churchplace Enclosure

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

  1. Complete the survey training.
