Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

30 Apr 2021The route follows the well used Silkin Way from Telford Town Centre (Has Bus and train stations) to Coalport where there is a Youth Hostel. . This is the route of an old railway line that itself followed the line of a disused tubboat canal. Its a popular paths for cyclists, runners and walkers and is well surfaced. The first mile or so is through the fantastic Telford Town park and the whole route is part of the local green network. There are lots of signs of the old industrial heritage to spot and the route passes the Blist Hill Victorian museum which is worth a visit. At Coalport the route leaves the Silkin Way near the famous inclined plane and crosses the River Severn at the Jackfield memorial footbridge which takes you to The excellent Boat pub. The route from here to Broseley is steeper out of the Ironbridge gorge and can get muddy in wet weather though when I walked it this week it was bone dry.
Corbett's dingle is very picturesque and as you come out of the woods and cross the Ironbridge road Broseley comes into view. The route takes you past some impressive buildings and Broseley itself has pubs, cafes and restaurants that are worth checking out and is on bus routes.
