Good route. I hot-footed this route on the way to other Slow Ways that needed verification. Bromham bridge has already been well explained by previous reviews. I wonder whether it is worth coming off the A4280 earlier to have a break from road walking (e.g. West Grove), but nothing about this route *really* needs changing as it is efficient and direct. Pathways are good, and wide on the main (apart from near Bromham and the bridge). The bus station is a good final destination, it seems to serve more locales than the train station (which is easily reached anyway from the route).

Walked from Bedford to Bromham, but only as far as Bromham bridge.

The walk was along well made up paths. The bridge at Bromham has no path, but there are passing places for walkers to use to allow cars to pass safely. Not sure how easy this would be for pushchairs/wheelchairs.

Quickest way from Bromham to Bedford. Footpath all the way apart from Bromham Bridge.

There is a nicer way, but you'll need to get wet .

This is a direct route from Bromham to Bedford. The majority of the walk is on good quality pavements alongside roads. This is a more urban route than I would usually walk, but here there is no alternative. There is only one section across a field and stream. You also have to use the road bridge to cross the River Great Ouse, where there is no pavement, but there are passing places and good visibility.

Easy route to walk into the county town, well described, mostly along pavement and direct.
Only slightly dodgy bit is the bridge across the Great Ouse at Bromham Mill - pedestrians need to dive between regularly spaced passing places to avoid passing cars (see photo), easy enough though and the cars do have good visibility of walkers.
