The bus station is a good final destination, it seems to serve more locales than the train station (which is easily reached anyway from the route)....

I walked it in reverse from Kempston to Bromham, except for the part past Bromham Bridge - which was open but this last 1km has been well reviewed previously and on the Bromham to Bedford route. North of Great Denham Park, there is a dog-leg which seems strange and could be quicker via the S to N footpath link, and also at the very start of the route (if going from Kempston), there is a path which cuts a small amount of time just after near Papa Johns - see attached....

The bridge at Bromham has no path, but there are passing places for walkers to use to allow cars to pass safely. Not sure how easy this would be for pushchairs/wheelchairs....

However I started the walk at Bromham bridge. The bridge has no footpath but does have passing places for pedestrians. The walk is really nice and I would definitely walk it again....

Footpath all the way apart from Bromham Bridge. There is a nicer way, but you'll need to get wet ....

Parts were not well signposted, in particular around Tythe Farm (derelict) and the following section of the railway line. Just after the farm, the path turns left through a metal gate and then along the embankment of the railway - it seems the route is petering out but persevere through (and around) the tree trunks and you'll find steps eventually leading down to the bottom....

However there is a particularly boggy section of path as you approach Pavenham from Stevington....

Unfortunately the Kempston Mill footbridge on this route is closed, so this route cannot be completed. The walk from Bromham to Great Denham along the river is pleasant, despite the sound of traffic....
Liz Cox
The majority of the walk is on good quality pavements alongside roads....

Only slightly dodgy bit is the bridge across the Great Ouse at Bromham Mill - pedestrians need to dive between regularly spaced passing places to avoid passing cars (see photo), easy enough though and the cars do have good visibility of walkers....
