Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

This was a very good route although there was an inaccuracy at the Bradley Stoke end, but not enough to fail the route. The route used a combination of pavements, off-road paths between housing, and compacted gravel paths. Some of the paths were a bit narrow, but the roads were mostly very quiet. Hambrook Lane, west of the M32, looked as if it was closed but the sign was addressed to motorists and it was fully accessible to pedestrians or wheelers.
The inaccurate part of the plot was along the busy main road, Three Brooks Lane, past the Tesco petrol station, close to the suggested entrance to Willow Brook shopping centre where the route ends. There was no pavement at this point, and I needed to squeeze between shrubs onto the forecourt. The sensible alternative is to walk along the east side of the Three Brooks pub and the petrol station, straight into the shopping centre.

Easy, fantastic walk which is very accessible for all. Good for dog walkers. Paths narrow slightly coming towards the end in Hambrook and some incline and decline but minimal. It is safe and very accurate, although not for walking in the dark on your own.
The route is definitely good enough to be part of the network, I would walk it again and suggest it to others.
I did this with my fellow team members as a work volunteering day and we also did some litter picking along the route.
We will definitely be doing another route again soon!.
