Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

22 Sep 2023I walked this route in mid September from Bourne with an overnight stop in Morton. Bourne is a market town with a full range of shops and services. The walk out of town was easy and soon I was out into the fields on public footpaths. There was a lot of walking on field edges but also long stretches where you are walking over recently cultivated fields which is heavy going especially after recent rain showers. There was often a evidence of a path where people were using this right of way but occasionally the field had just been cultivated so it was trudging through the muddy soil and hoping your direction finding was. Overall though this was a lovely walk with the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside and picturesque villages with beautiful churches. The route is a succession of lovely villages in undulating countryside. It also passes the Holy Well at Sempringham which was dry or hidden. Once you reach Billingborough I recommend the Fortescue Arms with good food and beer.
