08 Feb 2023Yes I agree with Stephen's sentiment, the walk is first class and it is possible to follow the plot if you are confident and have a map that shows footpaths. My view is that a Slow Way should be walkable using only the plot regardless of the quality of the base map. So sorry, on principle I have to fail this route and offer the same with an accurate plot. Having said that I can't be sure which route the original plotter intended using through Palterton.

23 Nov 2022I walked this route from Bolsover in November. There had been heavy rain in the previous week. Although some parts were soft and muddy, none was impassable. It leaves the centre on the pavements alongside a busy road. Following the footpath south from the edge of Bolsover I found the 1:25000 os map invaluable, because the route is not always the most obvious line. The path heads through farmland. The views are excellent as we follow the edge of the limestone slope. Thoroughly enjoyable.
