Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

17 Apr 2022I walk most of this route regularly. Most of it is fine, however there are a couple of issues that I think should be addressed (since nobody else has reviewed this yet, it is worth the effort). I have uploaded an alternative route to cover these.
1) The route takes you along the footpath from Thicketmead towards Welton rather than using the cycle path. This footpath is often very wet and muddy - the cycle path is much easier and accessible (and no longer).
2) The route takes a needlessly complicated and confusing route through Paulton. There is nothing particularly to gain in this from nice countryside or views - and in fact (again) it can get very muddy at times - so I think overall it is better to simplify and provide a more accesible route through this section.
Neither of these things in themselves would invalidate the route, in my opinion, but since there are no other reviews, I thought I should take the opportunity to improve it.
