Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

23 Apr 2021 (edited 27 Jun 2023)Mainly busy roads. There's a 20p toilet half-way on Crayford Waterside, as well as a micropub.

20 Jun 2021I am almost certain that the Broadlands section is private.

01 Oct 2022That'd be good to know. Have you tried this site? https://www.findmystreet.co.uk/ shows access and ownership categories for most roads and some footpath.
Not sure which bit is Broadlands or would do it myself.

25 Oct 2022I'd like to test this Slow Way but I haven't because of the the long stretch on the A207 near Bexleyheath. But it could be adapted to be much more pleasant but still very direct. By cutting through Hall Place North, Bigs Hill Wood and Shenstone Park there'd only be three busy road sections left of just 500-700m each. Overall about half the route would be through green spaces. I'll upload it as a new route after I've tested it.

28 Oct 2022I think the "private" section mentioned by RHF is from TQ 5303 7531 (Thames Rd by rail bridge) to TQ 5321 7512 (kissing gate onto Eton Way). Technically it seems to be a public byway but there are no signs from the Thames Road end. Yesterday I was, bluntly but not rudely, told that there was no way through. The guy appeared v quickly when a big dog started barking. Maybe not worth the bother. It's only 130m further if you carry on Thames Rd then down Burnham Crescent.
