05 Sep 2021This route is functional but rather inaccurate when it comes to walking alongside the canal path. The GPX route (turn left instruction) at the canal bridge at What3Words ///ending.saints.buddy takes you over the flood protection wall to a footpath parallel to the canal. You will need to turn right instead of left once over the bridge. This will take you to down a ramp onto the canal path and under the bridge you've just crossed.
Another point of note: the footpath before the canal bridge is narrow, dark and can get very muddy after only a little rain. The Beenot Two route along the canal maybe preferred for this reason (only slightly longer in distance).

15 May 2021 (edited 27 Jun 2023)A nice walk along the canal (although there are some narrow sections) but there is a very narrow muddy footpath between the canal and Beeston town which takes you past a sewerage treatment plant and an industrial estate which is less pleasant.

25 Apr 2021 (edited 27 Jun 2023)Excellent walk from the city centre along the canal. The path to the industrial estate is a bit rundown though, it might be better to go as far as Weirfield Recreation Ground and follow Meadow Road to Station Road.
