Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

21 Oct 2022Looking again at the map I think I cheated. I did not walk along the A377 which is a dangerous road to walk. I turned off onto the minor road used in route2 but then took the first footpath to the right across fields onto the minor road along the valley which route 2 later joins. There were 3 stiles involved in using the footpath. The minor roads were very quiet. Much of it is flat but the final section goes up for quite away and then down again to the riverside. Good views initially but a bit boring when there are hedges both sides. A pleasant walk and ends very close to the rail station. This is a single track line, trains about once an hour in each direction. There is no other public transport in Umberleigh.

19 Jun 2021There is a 1km section walking on the busy A377, where there is no path and the road has a 60mph speed limit.
