17 Jan 2024This is a fantastic Slow Way. Highly recommend. Gorgeous walking, views, woods and rivers. Great connection between Axminster and Lyme for those that want to walk one way. I'm 100% going to do this again in the summer.

31 Dec 2022I walked this route on a very wet winters day, but it was a great walk despite the conditions. The lanes were quiet and where the route used footpaths they were on mostly firm ground, so not too muddy, or it was easy to avoid the mud.
The smaller footpaths at Trinity Hill had running water on them, but again it was easy walking anyway.
This route is very similar to AxmLym1 but takes much better routes through the town. I Axminster it avoids traffic by taking you out of town ASAP. In Lyme the route uses the River Lim path all the way to the sea, which is mostly traffic free, and is in my view the nicest walk through Lyme. Reading the reviews for AxmLym 1, it looks like most reviewers used more of this route than that one anyway!
I definitely recommend this walk. I would like to do it in nice weather, but the fact that it was so manageable after the amount of rain we had before and during the walk makes it a definite all season walk.
Buses run 7 days a week, hourly between the start and end.
