Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Jun 2023This was a two day walk for us, with a wild camp by the ford at Luibeg Bridge (fab spot!). Lovely forest walk out of Aviemore into the stunning Lairig Ghru mountain pass. Paths are clear and easy to navigate. Minor bit of rock hopping at the top of the pass and then back onto easy path. After a great night camping the second day continued to descend towards Braemar. A few boggy patches to cross, but nothing too challenging. It becomes a landrover track beyond Derry Lodge and the passes through the lovely Marr Lodge Estage and uses the Victoria Bridge to get across the River Dee. A small bit of road walking and then forest track into Braemar for a well deserved coffee and cake.
