Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

20 Apr 2023This route is predominantly good and easy to follow. From Auchterarder it follows quiet roads along to Dunning, then it heads into the Invermay Estate. The route then leaves the farm track and takes a minor trodden path along the northern side of the Water of May. This path is initially OK, but becomes progressively more overgrown, with trees down over it, further east, and it runs along the top of the steep slopes with the Water of May at the bottom. I was not happy on this path and climbed the fence into the field, walking beside the fence until I reached Piper's Craig. There was a farm track to use for a while, at the top of the wooded slopes leading down to the river, but this petered out and I again took to a field edge. This I followed all the way round to a gate leading to the Ardargie road. A house and its garden barred the way. Once in Garblie Wood the route is correctly drawn via Forgandenny to Bridge of Earn.
Overall this is a good route but I have since explored the area in order to identify a better route omitting the overgrown path above the steep drop down to the Water of May.
Photos are all of the part of the route between the crossing of the Water of May and coming out onto the minor road northwest of Ardargie.
