Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

06 Aug 2021A missing bridge over the Mye Burn (at about 11km, about 500m east of Gartentruach Farm) provides an insurmountable barrier on this route. It might be possible to ford in dry weather (about 50m north of the railway bridge) but this would be out of the question if the burn was full. There is also a double stranded barbed wire fence that needs to be crossed (about 200m further east).
The only alternative route is to walk 4km along the fast and busy A811. A better alternative might be to use the bus between Buchlyvie and Arnprior (First X10, runs approx every 2 hours).
This is unfortunate as the rest of the route is a very attractive was of getting from Aberfoyle to Kippen and might well merit 5 stars.
