    3. To avoid the steep gradient on the subway, turn right at the bottom of Upper Craigs (at the point illustrated) and use the subway under Wellgreen Road. Follow the path into the Waitrose car park and continue along the front of the store, crossing Burghmuir Road by the pedestrian crossing. You are now bak on the route. In the reverse (east to west) direction, cross Burghmuir Road using the pedestrian crossing and continue along the front of Waitrose and the far side of the car park. Then along a footway that leads to a subway under Wellgreen Road. Turn right after the subway. 0.7 km from start — 19 Jun 2021

    7. This is a 40m stretch of relatively short grass. It was dry and in good condition at the time of survey, but it is possible that it may become water logged at times in winter. To avoid, go back 100m to the path crossroads and continue along the main path in the same direction as before. It bcurve gently to the right and ejoins the route after about 300m. In the opposite direction (east to west), continue along the main path for about 150m until you reach Wishart Drive. Turn right, follow Wishart Drive to its conclusion, and then the short path that leads to the main route. 2.8 km from start — 19 Jun 2021
