1. For this survey of Pooade one I walked from Pool to Adel. This is a view back to the start of the slow way from the first roundabout. This end of the route uses footways and pedestrian priority crossings. 0.1 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
2. At this point the Slow way leave the footway and continues up what appears to be a driveway. 0.9 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
3. After the old coach house, the slow way changes to a steep unmade track. At the time I walked the route five 4x4 vehicles passed up the track, with some difficulty. There are deep ruts with displaced bolders. However, fine when on foot. 1 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
4. As you travel up the track, called Staircase Lane, the quality of the surface improves until it is paved towards the top. This is just above the steepest section where the rutting is improved. 1.1 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
5. Having crossed the the busy main A road, without a designed crossing point, the slow way uses footways up and through Bramhope village. 2.1 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
6. The route turns onto a paved path which follows the route of the Bramhope railway tunnel. 2.5 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
7. As the path leaves the village it turns to a well used track. 2.6 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
8. Shortly afterward there are some steep uneven steps. 2.7 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
9. Having passed through the woods and walked along a grass verge at the side of a road, the slow way turns into a farm yard through a pedestrian field gate. 3.6 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
10. Continuing down a track that gradually narrows to a path, there is a field gate into the field around Bramhope Grove Farm. 4.1 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
11. The slow way through the farm is not sign posted but I could follow the route on the map, through the yard, to another field gate leading to the entrance of the farm. 4.4 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
12. Walking down the lane there is a stile into the fields. 4.9 km from start — 26 Apr 2021

16. The slow way passes through the parking area in front of a property, over a cattle grid and through a field gate. 5.9 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
17. Having passed around Paul's pond on unpaved footpaths there is a stile into the fields. 6.3 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
18. There is a field gate into Cocker Hill Farm and the slow way passes through their small yard. 6.6 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
19. The route follows the paved access lane to the farm down to Otley road. 6.9 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
20. The remainder of the slow way is up the footway at the side of the road into Adel. 7 km from start — 26 Apr 2021
