    10. Bridleway down a steep wooded hillside with some muddy stretches. Care needed. Quite a few paths but easy to navigate if you just keep on down to the river Amber at the bottom. Once the road is reached the Miners Arms Inn with good food and drink is worth a minor detour to the right before returning. 5.9 km from start — 30 May 2021

    11. There is 170m of the B6036 between the junction of Dicklant Lane and where the track turns off on the left, which has no footway and can be quite busy with traffic. This is the only section of the whole route that needs care and is not ideal. It is a short stretch and the Matcla 2 route coincides here and can be used to avoid it but I haven't walked that route yet. 7.9 km from start — 30 May 2021

    12. The track takes you through Edge Farm which has two gates with a simple latch but no stile or walker's gate. 8.6 km from start — 30 May 2021
