Lovely route. Only lost a star because of one short stretch on a B road with no walk space. And this can be avoided by using a section of Matcla Two. Otherwise there are beautiful tracks and pathways, lovely woods, flower meadows and streams, high pastures and ancient trees. There are stiles, lots of them squeeze stiles, and gates, one boggy top to a field and one steep slightly muddy bridleway, but nothing too challenging.
