3. Stile leading from Egginton Road (A5132) into field, at 2.23 km from the Hilton start. Cows were in this field. Walking along this road at a later date, I didn’t know if there was a bull in the field. There is a detour to avoid the field by using the path which has a motor-cycle barrier at its entrance, on the end of the pavement at some 40 metres to the right of the picture. 2.23 km from start — 21 Jun 2021
4. Access between the Sustrans path and Old Station Close, Etwall. The barrier has about a 540 mm width at 1 metre up from ground. A separate access (not pictured) has sleepers 280mm high on the ground, (Dimensions are approx) 4.2 km from start — 21 Jun 2021

Caution : On both sides of the road, the path emerges directly onto the edge of the carriageway, with no pavement. Traffic here is fast moving and visibility of oncoming traffic is hindered in both directions by vegetation, so care is needed. 5.49 km from start — 21 Jun 2021

13. Pair of gates across footpath. Similar pairs of gates are at 7.4km and 7.7km from the Hilton start. Through-way through the pedestrian gates at these three locations was approximately 1040 mm width. The big gates on the right are padlocked but the pedestrian gates aren't, though they do need to be secured after use as farm animals cross the path. 8.7 km from start — 21 Jun 2021
