Route description

This route leaves Hellifield to cross railtracks before following a good path, albeit muddy in places after rain, to reach the village of Otterburn, where there are no facilities. From here join a quiet back lane for about 1.5 miles to reach Bell Busk, again no facilities. From here, turn off onto good tracks which eventually join the Pennine Way before arriving in Gargrave. Here there are shops, pubs, accommodation plus rail/bus links. Overall the route includes gradual climbs and descents but nothing too steep. Unfortunately I doubt it is suitable for wheelchair users. Signposting is generally good, with only a few stiles and gates.
