Route description
After going down Station Road to the junction with Old Road and Church Road, turn left into Old Road and after a few yards on the right there is a gate to join a footpath running parallel to the road. This widens out into wide gravel track alongside Peak Rail and is used by walkers and cyclists. Leave the track when opposite Holt Drive (on north side of A6) close to the Premier inn to avoid (1) a narrow footbridge over the River Derwent, accessed by three steps at either end and (2) steep steps back down to footpath along the River Derwent. Rejoin the footpath along the River Derwent by following signs for Peak Rail from Derwent Way.
