10 Apr 2024 (edited 11 Apr 2024)Walked from Worksop to Langold (at least I think I more or less walked whst the designer had in mind). This is almost a good route, but the GPX plotting is very lazy and in at least two places makes the route selection on the ground ambiguous. Long straight lines abound, and most of the road crossings are in the wrong place - the straight line into Langold is particularly bad. SlowWays GPX plots are supposed to show a route clearly, this one doesn't.
I have submitted WorLan two, a new version that does not cut corners (or pass through buildings!). I have also posted a more detailed review with pictures there.

22 Mar 2023I walked this route from Worksop in March. It starts on pavements in quiet parts of town. The plotting on the map is basic. An OS map is essential to find rights of way. The 'countryside' section leaving Gateford is along the edge of a large building site. It is enclosed, now, and muddy. A lot of the route was a 'mudfest' - be prepared after wet weather or in winter. Approaching Langold Country Park I took a detour path to the hill top, where the view is very rewarding. The walk is straightforward on the ground and there is some pleasant countryside.

31 Dec 2022A nice walk which is mostly flat. We walked on 31st December and some locations were very muddy. There was also a fallen tree towards the langold end, which we were able to climb over but could cause some people a problem. The route is well signposted and the roads that need to be crossed have good visibility so can be crossed easily.

16 Aug 2021A pleasant walk through open countryside between a town and a village. Some paths are shaded by trees, most are not. The walk passes through a lovely country park near Langold. Some parts get muddy in wet weather.
