02 Aug 2024I walked from Thamesmead to Woolwich.
Simple straightforward route. 80% of the interest is views over the Thames, take binoculars to pick out birds, boats, and industry. Benches along the route were shaded and breezy, very welcome on this hot muggy day. (Might be a bit brassy in Winter). 15% interest in Woolwich in the historical docks.
Good for wheels, no snack shops along the way, easy navigation.

07 Jan 2024This is a straightforward route that follows the Thames Path/England Coast Path National Trail alongside the River Thames for most of the route. It is a pleasant and easy walk with only the slightest of inclines. There is plenty of interest (natural, historical, cultural, architectural etc.) along the way, with the busy River Thames by your side for most of the way. It is also probably the most direct reasonable walking route between Woolwich and Thamesmead.
The route is all on hard surfaces (paving, or compacted gravel), and runs parallel to, or shares a path with, the National Cycleway 1 for almost all of its length, and so probably counts as fully accessible (although I didn't do a proper survey). Also, it is almost entirely traffic-free.
I've rated it 5 stars because it probably is the easiest, shortest, quickest and nicest way to walk/wheel between Woolwich and Thamesmead.

27 Feb 2023I walked two Slow Ways from Erith to Woolwich. I really liked this route combination and the mix of old, new, industrial, residential & natural you see on the way. It was easy to navigate and fairly quiet too despite it being part of the Thames Path. Recommended!.

12 Feb 2023Long views across the Thames, old industries, new developments, huge skies, more wildlife than you might think and statues by Anthony Gormley (turn off point for Woolwich).
Both ends are very close to the Thames Path (English Coastal Path!), so it's very easy to navigate, despite the occasional fingerpost pointing the wrong way. The only one that matters is "Town Centre via Central Way", at the turnoff point for Thamesmead.
This route may be wheelchair accessible as it is also a long distance cycle route.
