01 Feb 2023I started from Ince, and descended a staircase on the far side of the railway. (It would be possible to detour further on to Canal Street to avoid the staircase.) There was building work going on at William Foster Playing Fields to provide improved football facilities. I had to divert a fair way around this, but could see, from both ends, where the roadway will be, and it looks as if it will soon be fully accessible. A short footpath led from the far end, through woods and past a pond to the canal. This included a narrow metal bridge with a stile in the middle of it. Crossing the canal involved a big metal kissing-gate/cycle-barrier combination. There was a section of paved canal towpath, past a couple of locks, then out onto the road as per WigInc One.
There was a traffic-heavy, but fully accessible road section with pedestrian lights to cross the busy junctions, and King Street was a pleasant end to the route.
