26 Jun 2022Walked this as the first part of a long three route walk from West Bridgford to Bottesford. No major concerns - as others have said the path used from Holme Lane into Radcliffe is not wheelchair friendly and can easily be avoided, but given that the rest of the route is on roads and pavements, I welcomed the break from walking on tarmac and concrete.

07 Feb 2022Nearly all of this route is by or along roads which either have pavements, cycle tracks or verges. The route starts in bustling central West Bridgford but soon follows resedential streets for 1km. You then come to more rural scenery and pass Holme Pierrepont Country Park and Water Sports Centre. Just after the entrance you have no pavement or track for the first time but there is a good verge for the next 800m. Then you must walk on the road but it is generally a quiet one.
Go past Skylarks Nature Reserve and lakes just off the road. You reach the small village of Holme Pierrepont and go past the entrance to Holme Pierrpont Hall on the left.
The only slightly tricky navigation is just after you reach the first houses of Radcliffe. The first road you go past in Radcliffe is a cul-de-sac on the right called The Green. Opposite this on the left is a track. The path you want goes off to the right of this track. It is signposted but is narrow and could be missed. This path can be a little muddy. You then go past the football pitch and across a park before following roads into the centre of Radcliffe.

27 Jan 2022Basicly the same as Wesrad-2 so why spoil a straightforward accessible route with stiles on a very short section of unnecessary footpath. Stick with Wesrad-2.

22 May 2021A very pleasant route, the nearer Radcliffe, the quieter the road gets. It's also easy to follow, once out of West Bridgford it follows National Cycle Route 15 so it is signposted. There aren't any pavements once you get here, though the road past the water sports centre has wide, flat grass verges. The road itself through Holme Pierrepont is badly potholed and would probably be difficult for a wheelchair user. Near the end there is a pair of styles either end of a narrow, muddy path between horse paddocks, WesRad 2 avoids this.
