Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

07 Nov 2021I have every sympathy for anyone trying to work out a good walking route between Weston and Clevedon. I have tried to do it myself in the past and the lack of public access to the sea wall, the lack of a public right of way across the River Yeo, plus the blocking presence of the M5 in the area make it a serious challenge.
What we are waiting for is the proposed new section of the England Coast Path south of Clevedon to grind its way through the planning process. This, when approved and built, will give walkers access to the coast and a useful new crossing of the Yeo and will help make a lovely slow way between these two towns. Fingers crossed......
In the meantime, this Wescle two slow way just isn't feasible. You cannot cross the M5 on the northerly of the two suggested crossings (only the river goes under it here). There is also no public right of way over the suggested route along the river wall of the Yeo north of the Oldbridge River ditch in the same area. And you cannot get across the golf course south of Clevedon either. There is a permissive route around it to the west (which is really nice - great views across the estuary from the sea wall) but the footpath from the Lower Strode road was impassable last time I looked earlier this year and I doubt that has changed.
