Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

27 Jun 2023 (edited 23 Jun 2023)This route was super easy to follow and a safer alternative than the main roads.
It’s not too long and passes a few shops and cafes in the way.
I would definitely do this route again.

27 Mar 2023A short but unremarkable urban route, but is does the job well enough.
It starts is a curious mix of residential and industrial in Urmston, before pounding the streets of Humphrey Park's leafy suburbia.
Crossing Park Road into Stretford is not straight forward; no crossings, and no ramps (fencing also hampers progress in places). But we're soon past the town hall, across a busy A-road junctiom (there's crossings and subways), before ending at the Metro station.
Almost fully accessible, save that one road crossing I mentioned.

18 Sep 2022As the other reviewer mentioned, an urban route. Some access issues due to occasional lack of dropped kerbs, but overall the route is direct, safe and easy to follow. Slight detour takes you to the lovely Victoria Park if you follow School Road instead of Jackson Street.

01 May 2021I walked from Urmston to Stretford. The whole route is in an urban area, shops or quiet residential, along pavements. Several busy roads to be crossed, not all at pedestrian crossing points.
