Description
A more direct option. But going over exposed moorland. Best walked in clear visibility or with a good level of navigation skills. Steep inclines at both ends of the route

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

08 Sep 2023Walked in excellent conditions. A bright sunny day, with great visibility and so navigation was straight forward. Stunning views, but a reasonably strenuous walk. Also there are no refreshment opportunities on the route, so I would advise taking a packed lunch. If prepared this route would make for a great day out. I walked from Stocksbridge. The buses from the visitor centre to Sheffield or Bakewell only operate in Summer or on Sundays. Outside these days, you either walk back or walk to Ladybower (about 3 miles) for the bus.
