Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Unfortunately just outside Pontrhydfendigaid there is a section where the path is completely overgrown with a thicket of branches and the only way through is in the bog. I gave up after 100 yards as it was too tricky and slightly dangerous. I couldn't see the end to the thicket either. I will be raising PROW access issue with the Council.

So I had to go back and walk down the B4343 and detour to Brynhope to pick up the Teifi trail. The path was quite rugged but did connect up to the old railway line track to Cors Caron. This is a very long straight road ! I quite like boggy / marshy areas but some may not and find it a bit flat and boring.

The other issue is that the route from Cors Caron to Tregaron is again back on the B4343. Its not too busy but I'd rather be off road.

So due to the access issue I will have to say this inaccessible. But I will put another variation that eliminates the B4343 entirely for someone else to try.

In the attached photos the tufts of grass to the left of trees is ankle deep bog. The trees are really dense and very difficult to get through. Further to the left is more deeper bog .
